Episode 2255: A Call to Deep Communion - Morning Episode
In today's episode, we reflect on the revelations of John the Baptist, the heartfelt feelings of Christ towards John the Baptist and the miraculous birth of John the Baptist. These readings and quotes guide us to a deeper understanding of our relationship with Christ, especially through the Holy Eucharist. Join us as we explore the call to embrace the Lamb of God and the transformative power of sincere communion with Him.
John 1:29-31:
"Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! This is he of whom I said, ‘After me comes a man who ranks before me, for he was before me.’ I myself did not know him; but for this I came baptizing with water, that he might be revealed to Israel."
John the Baptist's proclamation unveils Jesus as the Lamb of God, the ultimate sacrifice who takes away the sins of the world. This declaration invites us to recognize Jesus' preeminence and divine mission. John's role as the forerunner emphasizes the importance of preparing our hearts to receive Christ, highlighting the need for repentance and spiritual readiness.
"Oh, how painful it is to Me that souls so seldom unite themselves to Me in Holy Communion. I wait for souls, and they are indifferent toward Me. I love them tenderly and sincerely, and they distrust Me. I want to lavish My graces on them, and they do not want to accept them. They treat Me as a dead object, whereas My Heart is full of love and mercy. In order that you may know at least some of My pain, imagine the most tender of mothers who has great love for her children, while those children spurn her love. Consider her pain. No one is in a position to console her. This is but a pale image and likeness of My love."
In this message expresses His deep sorrow over the indifference and distrust He encounters from souls regarding the Holy Communion. His lament reveals the depth of His love and desire to be united with us in the Eucharist. This plea calls us to reflect on our own attitudes towards the Eucharist and challenges us to approach it with greater reverence, trust, and love.
Luke 1:57-66:
"Now the time came for Elizabeth to be delivered, and she gave birth to a son. And her neighbors and kinsfolk heard that the Lord had shown great mercy to her, and they rejoiced with her. And on the eighth day they came to circumcise the child; and they would have named him Zechari′ah after his father, but his mother said, 'Not so; he shall be called John.' And they said to her, 'None of your kindred is called by this name.' And they made signs to his father, inquiring what he would have him called. And he asked for a writing tablet, and wrote, 'His name is John.' And they all marveled. And immediately his mouth was opened and his tongue loosed, and he spoke, blessing God. And fear came on all their neighbors. And all these things were talked about through all the hill country of Judea; and all who heard them laid them up in their hearts, saying, 'What then will this child be?' For the hand of the Lord was with him."
The birth and naming of John the Baptist is a testament to God's faithfulness and the fulfillment of His promises. The miraculous events surrounding John's birth and his parents' obedience to God's will highlight the significance of his role in salvation history. This passage encourages us to trust in God's plan and to be open to His miraculous workings in our lives.
Conclusion:
As we conclude today's episode, we are reminded of the profound call to embrace Jesus, the Lamb of God, with hearts full of faith and love. The sorrow expressed by passage urges us to approach the Holy Communion with reverence and trust, recognizing it as a precious gift of His love and mercy. Let us also draw inspiration from the miraculous birth of John the Baptist, trusting in God's providence and His plans for our lives. Thank you for joining us on this journey of faith and reflection. Until next time, may you be blessed with a deeper communion with Christ and a heart open to His abundant graces.
