How to Defeat Phalanx Demon's Souls Guide

Welcome to the first video in the Demon's Souls collection of Boss fights. This series will also include important story cut scenes and events. The first area of Boletaria is the Gates of Boletaria where you will enounter hordes of undead (but still quite loyal to Old King Allant) soldiers. The boss you will encounter here is Phalanx, which is an area accessed by using the two gate levers on either side of the castle.

The Fight:

Phalanx is weak to FIRE so firebombing is very effective. You need to remove the little Phalanx's that are swarming all over and shielding Phalanx. It may be quick or take time, depending on your attack type. But by large just dodge the spears the little Phalanx's shoot out of their gooey bodies. After defeating this Demon, be sure to pick up the demon soul at the newly appeared sword and archstone.

GOOD RULE OF THUMB:

For the average player, (someone who is not trying to break a record or achieve a... achievment.) you will want to stay in soul form for most of the game. This is because if you lose your body within a world you will darken that worlds tendency. However you can lose your soul for over and over without a problem. The safest way to do this is within the Nexus where tendency is not applicable. Plenty of high balconies to fall off. Just saying.
