George Washington went to a place called Valley Forge, where he wintered in 1777. 1777 was the lowest point of the war. There were like 2000 troops that died at Valley Forge because of exposure. they didn't have the right shoes and because of starvation. And there was a pandemic in 1777, in the winter. So they lost about 2000 men there's the famous picture where George Washington goes out, and he kneels down and he prays, next to his horse name, Nelson. You've all seen this picture before. This is a quintessential picture from Valley Forge. There's actually a chapel that is George Washington's chapel. And so George Washington was a man of prayer. There were eyewitnesses, that saw him going to the woods, kneel down and pray. It was even told later one of his enemies had said, there's nothing that can stop this man. Because in the lowest point, when all was desperate, he would go and he would pray and he would seek God.
