### Ingredients:
- **For the cake:**
- 1 and 3/4 cups (220g) all-purpose flour
- 1 and 1/2 cups (300g) granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup (65g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup (240ml) whole milk
- 1/2 cup (120ml) vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup (240ml) boiling water

- **For the frosting:**
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
- 2/3 cup (65g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3 cups (360g) powdered sugar
- 1/3 cup (80ml) whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

### Instructions:
1. **Preheat your oven** to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round baking pans.
2. **Mix dry ingredients**: In a large bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. **Add wet ingredients**: Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla to the flour mixture and beat on medium speed for about 2 minutes. Stir in the boiling water (batter will be thin).
