The process was were he was made perfect: to be the primary representation of what it meant to be perfect in Christ, being 100% obedient to God, without sin, sacrificing Himself to God the Father, to satisfy God's requirement to pay for sin (to die in the place of the sinner).
1 Samuel 15:22, 'Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice' (better to obey God, than hiding behind rituals to attempt please God)

Jeremiah 18:6, Isaiah 64:8, Ephesians 2:10, God's workmanship: He is the potter and the people are the clay
