Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL), a prominent Japanese shipping company, has recently taken delivery of a new LNG-powered car carrier named the “CERULEAN ACE” from the Shin Kurushima Dockyard. This advanced vessel is specifically designed to transport vehicles manufactured by Mazda Motor Corporation.

The “CERULEAN ACE” measures around 200 meters in length, with a beam of 38 meters, and boasts a capacity to accommodate 7,050 units. It features an innovative AI system that utilizes cameras installed in the cargo bay to monitor and promptly notify the crew of any irregularities.

The ship's naming and delivery ceremony was held on March 13th at the Onishi Shipyard. This vessel represents the first of eleven LNG-fueled car carriers that MOL has ordered in Japan.

In addition to its cutting-edge technology, the ship is equipped with Starlink satellite communications, ensuring seamless high-speed internet connectivity during its operations.
