Cancer survivors learn to "Livestrong" at YMCA
A couple of times a week you'll find Tammy Park and Crystal Mclear at the Kent-Ton YMCA. The friends and cancer survivors are taking part in a special program called "Livestrong". The program is offered free to cancer survivors. Tammy says "we really needed to get our lives back. It was time to get our strength back, being together made it easier for us to motivate each other." Livestrong is a 12-week program offered at all of the YMCA branches. Wellness Program Director Brianna Brogan points out that "they work on not only their strength building, flexibility and the biggest thing is a support group." Livestrong has helped more than three hundred individuals since it's inception in 2012. More information is available at the YMCA website.
