Social Media and the Rise of the Overnight Midwife

In this episode, we talk about the challenges of running a business in the age of social media. We look back on our experience starting our online birth course before the rise of social media and compare it to the current landscape where anyone can create a profile and post content.

We chat about the lack of discernment and integrity in the birth community, with individuals misrepresenting their experience and using others' content without permission as though that is normal adult behavior. And we touch on the tension between the desire for transparency and the pressure to present a curated and idealized image on social media.
