Webinar | Raise your hand if you're a Zionist: What's Driving America's Descent into Antisemitism?

Anti-Israel protestors cloaked in Keffiyeh scarves boarded a New York City subway and terrorized peaceful citizens, demanding riders “raise your hand if you’re a Zionist,” and threatening, “This is your chance to get out.” A week later, New York police are still searching for the man who led the chants while yelling in people’s faces. They are considering elevating the coercion charge to a hate crime.

According to the New York Post, roving mobs gathered at “Union Square Park in Manhattan and held up a banner that read ‘Long live October 7.’ One antisemitic demonstrator at the event yelled that he wished ‘Hitler was still here’ to ‘wipe out’ the Jews.”

These are not isolated events.

Throughout the spring, more than 100 American universities were overtaken by pro-Hamas protests, encampments and aggressive gatherings ostensibly for Muslim prayers. Belligerent college presidents dragged before Congress refused to take responsibility for their institution’s allowance for antisemitism by students and staff. Tens of thousands of American youths have taken to the streets to block traffic, trains, and President Joe Biden’s campaign events. Individual Jewish Americans have experienced increased persecution including doxing and vandalism to their homes.

For most Americans, the sudden eruption of anti-Israel protests, Holocaust denial and hatred of the Jews appeared out of nowhere after October 7. But, for many human rights advocates, historians, and researchers who’ve been warning of increased violence and harassment against Jews (and Christians) globally, what is afoot is part and parcel of an expanding global jihad making its debut in America. This American jihad is enabled and funded by the allied efforts of homegrown and foreign Communists and Sharia supremacists who have gained unprecedented footholds in our country’s institutions of higher learning, media, corporations, the entertainment industry and halls of government.

This STPC webinar features the insights of Israeli and American Jews examining the explosive and unsafe environment many Jewish Americans say reminds them of living in Germany in the years leading up to the Holocaust. It also is a warning of what may be in store for Christians here, some of whom have already begun to be persecuted for their faith.
