Since the pre-pandemic era, Gov. Kathy Hochul’s budget has increased by 35 to 40 percent, with Medicaid spending growing significantly. Despite generous funding, however, New York’s Medicaid program continues to pay some of the lowest rates, raising questions about the impact of industry lobbying and the allocation of funds.
