MALEMA: WE ARE OPPOSED TO WHITE SUPREMACISTS, NOT WHITE PEOPLE

Just three weeks after South African elections that saw the people’s support for the African National Congress (ANC) party take a nosedive, many are now expressing disgust at the weakened ANC forming a government of unity with the white-led Democratic Alliance (DA) and the right-wing Inkatha Freedom Party.

This is all because the ANC failed to secure an outright majority during the 29 May election. It won only 40 per cent, its worst performance since the ANC first contested elections 30 years ago, just as apartheid ended.

While some sections of South Africa, especially the business elite, have welcomed the new unity government, others are opposed to it. Those include the anti-imperialist Marxist-Leninist Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) party (@effsouthafrica), which, from the onset, had made it clear it would not join any government that included the DA and the right-wing Freedom Front Plus (FF+).

However, as EFF President Julius Malema (@julius.sello.malema on Instagram and @Julius_S_Malema on Twitter) explained a few days ago, the EFF’s opposition to the new unity government has to do with its opposition to white supremacy than white people.

Take a look and let us know what you think.
