Hear this man’s cry on the streets of Egypt for the Palestinian people shortly after Israel’s military onslaught on the Gaza Strip began eight months ago.

More than 37,000 casualties later, the world is still crying out for a ceasefire after Israel has wiped out generations of families and orphaned 17,000 children.

Since 6 May, Israel has faced increasing international criticism and pressure for invading and attacking the city of Rafah in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, where Israel encouraged Palestinians to shelter shortly after the 7 October escalation in the 76-year Israeli occupation of Palestine. About 1.5 million people left their homes to seek refuge in Rafah.

Having ignored the International Court of Justice’s (ICJ) 26 January order to avoid gen*cidal acts, Tel Aviv has k*lled an additional 11,000 Palestinians since that ruling. Israel has also ignored the ICJ’s 24 May order to end its military onslaught in Rafah.
