Courageous Dads: We Thank You!

In recent decades there has been a dumbing down of our heroes.
Heroes used to stand for all that is good and right. Unfortunately,
today’s heroes represent a mixture of good and evil.

Sadly, if truth be told, today’s heroes tend to be more bad than good. If you don’t believe it, just look at the major sports heroes or movie stars.
Many are on their second or third marriage or proud of the fact
they are trying to redefine marriage, addicted to drugs and alcohol,
and generally don’t give a flip about any one but themselves.

Regardless, the real heroes, in my book, are the courageous dads
who are choosing to serve the Lord. There is no doubt in my mind
that sons’ and daughters’ eyes are squarely fixed on their fathers.
Dads your children are watching your every move.

What is important to you most often becomes important to them.
In Joshua 24, Israel’s leader, Joshua gave his farewell address to
the people. He charged them to courageously choose to serve God.

If they would do this, he promised them God’s blessings.
However, if they chose to follow other gods, God would curse
them.

As your pastor and a fellow dad, I want to thank you for being a
courageous dad to your kids by choosing to serve the Lord!!!
