Gardening in a Bucket

A short video of our bucket garden. ( In order shown on the video) We planted cucumbers in a black tub we had sitting around, potatoes in a 55 gallon drum that we cut down, strawberries in flower pots and snap beans in buckets with tomato cages - all set below the deck. On the deck we planted green peppers, giant jalapeno peppers, roma tomatoes and cherry tomatoes - all in buckets with tomato cages. On the little table we panted German thyme, rosemary, and basil - these are all in spare flower pots we had already.
We tried to use items we already had on hand or had previously purchased the first year we attempted this - the buckets we purchased a few years ago, along with the tomato cages. The buckets are just standard 5 gallon buckets that we drilled holes in the bottoms to allow drainage and we also drilled 4 holes near the top edge to zip tie the cages to the bucket for stability. The soil we used is a mixture of potting soil, compost and raised garden bed soil and was left over from last year - we added fertilizer this year in hopes of rejuvenating the soil without having to spend a small fortune on soil as the costs have dramatically increased this year!
What we will do with all the vegetables? We have hopes of canning salsa, freezing some of the peppers to use during the winter, and canning some pickles. Of course, this will all depend on how well the plants produce.
