Iranian reformist candidate strives for rapprochement with the West

The race for the Iranian presidency is heating up. One of the six candidates vying for the top job is Masoud Pezeshkian, who became the surprise choice on the list released by the Guardian Council - the body which approves all presidential nominations.

Hailing from the reformist camp, Pezeshkian reignited the long-standing rivalry between the conservatives and reformists.
