Putin's Peace Offer, Or Russia's Ultimatum?

Just one day before the start of the so called “Peace Summit” in Switzerland, Vladimir Putin gave a lengthy speech to all the senior staff in the Foreign Ministry.

This event also serves as an announcement about Russia’s intentions toward the war with Ukraine, showing the Kremlin meant this to be addressed also at the West.

Putin in very clear terms lies out the main points:
* Russia is willing to negotiate peace immediately if Ukraine is willing to do so too
* The preconditions for a cease fire
* Russia’s objectives for a lasting peace that ends the conflict once and for all.

This is a very important speech as it gives us the Russian position as clearly as it gets.
