In this very special episode of Walt's TV show, the 10th anniversary of Disneyland is observed. First Walt takes Disneyland Ambassador Julie Reihm through WED Enterprises. The position of Disneyland Ambassador was created when Walt became so busy that it was difficult for him to fulfill all of his public appearance obligations. The Disneyland Ambassador was meant to take his place at these events.

In the first segment Walt introduces the audience to many of his Imagineers who are Disney Legends such as Mary Blair, Rolly, Crump, Marc Davis, John Hench, and others. We see early development on Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion as well.

Then we join Walt's characters for a special Disneyland anniversary song written by the Sherman Bros. The Sherman Bros were Walt's right-hand songwriters.

After that, Walt narrates footage from Disneyland's first ten years including its construction, expansion, and special events. Rounding out the program is a trip down the updated Jungle Cruise and a stop in the Enchanted Tiki Room. This was the first time most Americans became acquainted with these attractions.

Completing this program we see some footage from the Disneyland nighttime festivities. In this sequence we see the Firehouse Five Plus Two, the dixieland jazz band made up of Disney artists, and Tiny Kline as the flying Tinkerbell during the Disneyland fireworks display. This is a jam packed show.

When this episode was released to a Walt Disney Treasures DVD in 2001, much of this episode was edited. We have restored all of the deleted footage so you will see the complete show as it originally aired. This is a gem of Walt Disney history.
