New 'divergabout' set to open in Lee’s Summit

A unique traffic configuration called a “divergabout” will open to drivers Friday on Route 50 and Route 291 in Lee’s Summit. It combines a diverging diamond interchange with a roundabout. While it may sound a little confusing, MoDOT is confident drivers will quickly adjust thanks to signage and the fact that these traffic designs exist elsewhere in the metro.
