The Truth About Everything: Anton Lavey and the Church of Satan

I grew up reading the Bible in Church: The Satanic Bible by Anton Lavey. Growing up in Southern Virginia, surrounded by right-wing Christian rednecks, I felt the pain of Christian oppression from an early age. One day, when I was maybe 9 or ten years old, I found a copy of Anton Lavey's Satanic Bible at a local Spencer's gift shop. I was not the least bit surprised to discover that I resonated with it. Deeply.

Instead of exaltations of evil deeds and praise to the Dark lord, the book was a refreshing kliterary oasis of common sense. It was really nohing but an exhortation to humanity to act with reason and common sense. There was even solid morality; do not harm animals or children, show people respect in their house, etc. there wasn't an ounce of evil to be found, unlike the unfathomably evil Old Testament. Eventually I would read much of Lavey's writings, honestly finding much of it obnoxious and pointlessly vulgar. Neverless, hisw Satanic bible got me through many Sunday's at church....
In this Lightstream, which i am doing at the request of a subscriber, I will offer my insights and opinions into Lavey and his work, but also i will explain some of the deeper Mysteries of Mystical Satanism.
