Inside Out 2 Could Break Pixar’s Half Decade Dry Spell

The latest Disney and Pixar animated movie Inside Out 2 is opening this weekend and is expected to have one of the biggest opening weekends, if not the biggest, this year.

Disney and Pixar have been in a bit of a dry spell when it comes to the box office with Pixar not producing a movie that reached profitability at the box office since Toy Story 4 in 2019. The issue with many Pixar movies these past couple of years have been poor writing and the studio inserting, according to one Disney executive, their “not so secret gay agenda.” Other issues have been the company’s push for streaming which trained general audiences to wait a few months after a film’s release to watch it at home on Disney+.
