Leaders at an emergency summit in Jordan pleaded for greater aid access to humanitarian aid inside the Gaza Strip. Arab leaders and UN officials backed a ceasefire plan presented by the United States and called on parties to continue negotiations.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has announced more than $400m in humanitarian assistance to Palestinians at the conference in Jordan as he called for other donors to also step up.
