The Princess of Wales says she is making "goodprogress" after her cancer diagnosis and is to attendthe formal Trooping the Colour ceremony in London.

It will be her first public appearance this year followingthe diagnosis, and her abdominal surgery in January.

In a personal message, Catherine said her treatmentwas still ongoing and will continue for another fewmonths. She said "I am not out of the woods yet.

It's the most significant update on Catherine's healthsince revealing in March she had cancer, in astatement written in her own words.

It is accompanied by a new photograph of theprincess, taken by photographer Matt Porteous, whichshows her near her home in Windsor.

But there is caution with the positive message.

"As anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days" she says. "Onthose bad days you feel weak, tired and you have togive in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well".

The princess says "I am learning how to be patient, especially with uncertainty. Taking each day as itcomes, listening to my body, and allowing myself totake this much needed time to heal."
