Limasson - I don't even know what nationality this name is supposed to be. As such, no real idea what a proper pronunciation should be. And so my pronunciation is not particularly consistent throughout. Yuck.

salle à manger: dining room

Tour du Néant: Not a real peak, just a fictional name. But it's a French name. And given the Inn staff speak German, this makes me think the story is set somewhere in Switzerland.

farthing: in the British monetary system of old: a quarter penny. Not in use in the UK since 1961.

’s ist bald ein Uhr, Herr! Aufstehen: It's almost one o'clock, sir! Wake up!

couloir:a steep mountainside gorge

slouch hat: a wide-brimmed felt or cloth hat most commonly worn as part of a military uniform, often, although not always, with a chinstrap, and where one side droops down as opposed to the other which is pinned against the side of the crown.
