PICKENS, Miss. (WLBT) - Two men were caught by Mississippi law enforcement after an armed robbery of a Dollar General using an “altered” gun.

Marshall Howard and Ivyon Anderson robbed a Dollar General in Pickens, Miss. at gunpoint, and ran from the scene.

In a Facebook post, the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Office states that the two individuals were tracked by a K-9 officer who could guide law enforcement to their location.

The men were found within a few hours of searching near Gas Plant Road with weapons and a large amount of money.

Reportedly, both of the weapons used during the robbery were “AR-styled,” one of them being altered to contain a “switch.”

Having this alteration made the weapon fully automatic.

The Pickens Police Department asked for assistance from the sheriff’s offices of Holmes County, Madison County, Attala County, and Yazoo County.

The other agencies responded in minutes, according to the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department.
