I tell everyone who will listen, “to avoid probate, get a Trust…” then, I find myself explaining “what is a Trust.” So, here’s mine… Contents include a Last Will & Testament, Assignment of Personal Property, Power of Attorney for Assets & Health Care, and more.
Over time, I've learned that it's important to amend a few items because of life changes and transitions. We get married, sometimes separated...have kids, sometimes grandkids...people come into, and sometimes leave our lives. I've reviewed some of the consequences in my previous video Celebrity Planning Disasters.
Assets that should be held by a Trust, or funding the Trust include real estate, bank accounts, stocks, and investments.
