NOTES ON THE 6-5-24 CLASS
LAST EDITED 6-11-24 0104 HST
>> From 10:17 to 13:09 I give an overview of classes past, future, and current.
>> From 13:09 to 20:20 I discuss the book Heaven and Hell: A History of the Afterlife by historian Bart Ehrman of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
>> From 20:20 to 1:32:49 we have a discussion of near death experiences (NDEs) and out of body experiences (OBEs).
>> From 1:32:49 to the end I give a brief overview of the Gospel of John followed by related commentary by Doug and myself. Emphasis is on the Greek verb pisteuó (Strong’s 4100) and the cognate noun pistis (Strong’s 4102), whether these words should be translated as believe/belief or trust/trust, and the fact that Jesus and Paul were teaching two entirely different gospels.

CORRECTIONS TO MY STATEMENTS AT THE 6-5-24 CLASS
LAST EDITED 6-10-24 0126
>> At 7:02 to 7:04 “the class” was meant to be “the class schedule.”
>> At 1:08:15 to 1:08:18 I state that I “had not yet found A Course in Miracles.” What I meant was that I had not yet found it on a permanent basis for ongoing study. In 1977 a friend had loaned me the third volume of ACIM. I read it and sent it back to her. I forgot the name of the book but I did learn a lot from it, and I put the limited content that I understood from this small portion of ACIM into practice from that point forward.
>> At 1:21:22 to 1:21:25 “then potentially you could lose that” was meant to be “then potentially you could lose the awareness of the fact that as long as we are in time learning love, forgiveness, trust, and service is more important than achieving samadhi.”
>> At 1:33:17 to 1:33:20 “and that topic was well worth a whole class” meant “and the topic of near death experiences and other out of body experiences was well worth a whole class.”
