A Musical Christmas at Walt Disney World (1993)

This Christmas special is hosted by beloved actor Robert Urich and features various singers performing different Christmas and Disney songs around the parks as a backdrop. There had been several TV specials in this vein over the years with varying success. It only ever aired once and on ABC, which the Walt Disney Company would purchase a few years later.

Performers include Natalie Cole, Trisha Yearwood, Lea Salonga, Peabo Bryson, Kathy Lee Gifford, Andy Williams, Steve Curtis Chapman, and the Disney Parks group Voices of Liberty. They sing both Disney songs and traditional Christmas Carols and Songs. Some of these songs and hymns would not be welcome in Walt Disney Company projects only a few years later.

This is another great time capsule of what both Disney and American culture was like several decades ago.
