Considered truly the last stand of the classic American railroad experience, the American Orient Express was a concept that brought the finesse and sophistication of the revived European Orient Express to the United States, delivering a service of unbeatable luxury and prestige, but unfortunately also burdened with very narrow and sensitive profit margins, ones that would conspire to destroy this bespoke train during the economic upheaval of the 2008 global recession.
