Good morning! :D

Despite their small numbers, the Class 73 electro-diesels are far from an obscurity upon the British Rail network, being conceived originally as a means of providing a suitable replacement for steam traction, while at the same time being capable of working on both the electrified and non-electrified sections of the Southern Region network, leading to a boxy but practical series of locomotives that continue to see regular operation over half a century after their first foray onto the system.
