Suspect in Terre Haute police shooting identified as 21-year-old man

The man accused of shooting and killing a Terre Haute, Indiana police officer has been identified. Police say the suspect, 21-year-old Christopher Wolfe, was killed after an exchange of gunfire at the Garden Quarter Apartments on Friday. Indiana State Police say the suspect started shooting at the officers from the second floor of an apartment building and the officers returned fire. Officer Rob Pitts, a 16-year veteran of the force, was wounded and later died at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.
