The Henry Silva-Chevy Chase Timeline Loop - Johnny Cool (1963) - Fletch (1985) - Balboa

There are key scenes in both Fletch & Johnny Cool that appear to take place in the same location, The Beverly Estate at 1011 N Beverly Drive, Beverly Hills, California. It is also where parts of The Godfather was filmed. Definitely not a coincidence.

If you examine carefully, it does appear to be the same Mansion with the same library and mezzanine between films, even though I can't find any official listing showing Johnny Cool was filmed there. Visual inspection demonstrates it clearly.

If this is true, why did Michael Ritchie, a timeline loop director, choose to stage the scenes Fletch as an ode to Johnny Cool?

How does this correlate to Henry Silva's relationship to the real life Corleones?

Not only do the locations match, but quite a few bits of the plot of Fletch, appear to be 'borrowed' or paying homage to Johnny Cool.

Using some archive footage from when I was passing through Balboa Peninsula, I pieced together the comparisons between Fletch starring Chevy Chase & Johnny Cool starring Henry Silva...when you see them side by side, it's hard to ignore how similar they are in many ways...as if they could be 'related' by blood but it wasn't acknowledged.
