What Does A Walgreen's Look Like In A Free State Where Crime Is Still Illegal?

ORLANDO, FLORIDA (June 6, 2024). My local Walgreen's is woefully understaffed. I was waiting patiently at the front checkout counter while the lone clerk was busy serving other customers at the photo counter at the other end of the story.

This is not the first time I've seen this happen at this store. They leave it wide open and completely unattended. And that's because, here in Florida, people go to jail for stealing.

The shelves are well-stocked. Almost all of the merchandise is easily accessible, with very few items locked up.

News clips from ABC News San Francisco about the condition of Walgreen's in that city as well as meme clips from Married WIth Children's hapless TV reporter Miranda Veracruz de la Jolla Cardinal, Captain Jean Luc Picard's double facepalm on Star Trek: The Next Generation, Rachel Ticotin and Arnold Schwarzenegger's scene in Total Recall (1990) where Sharon Stone is dispatched ("What a bitch!"), "Why you so stupid, stupid" from Futurama. And a couple of YouTube clips of people going to jail for shoplifting in Florida.

A San Francisco police officer makes an interesting admission in the ABC clip when he states that the criminals doing the shoplifting "make their way to the west side on the 38 bus." One of the neighborhoods "served" by the 38-GEARY bus is the Tenderloin.
