"Let go of your worries" is one of the greatest poems written by the Persian Poet Jalal ad-Din Rumi (1207-1273).
The theme of this poem is that one needs to explore the inner transparency of his or her existence. To not get caught up in all the mud life throws at them and focus on their inner truth. Rumi wants the reader to release negative energy and worries, and look inside themselves.
--
Let go of your worries
and be completely clear-hearted,
like the face of a mirror
that contains no images.
If you want a clear mirror,
behold yourself
and see the shameless truth,
which the mirror reflects.
If metal can be polished
to a mirror-like finish,
what polishing might the mirror
of the heart require?
Between the mirror and the heart
is this single difference:
the heart conceals secrets,
while the mirror does not.
