The Boles family murder took place in August 1965, in Crestline, California. James Boles, his wife Darlene, and their two sons, 13-year-old Robert and 12-year-old Thomas, were found shot to death in their cabin. They were discovered two days later when they failed to return home, prompting a family member to check on them. Despite an extensive investigation, including interviewing neighbors and examining potential suspects, the case remains unsolved. No clear motive was ever identified, and the primary suspect at the time was eventually ruled out.
