BYD's Record-Breaking Sales

BYD, China's leading EV maker, achieved its second-highest sales record in May, with 331,817 new energy vehicles (NEVs) sold.

This marks a 38% year-over-year increase and a 5% increase from the previous month.

Plug-In Hybrids and Electric Vehicles

The sales growth was driven by a surge in plug-in hybrid sales, setting a new monthly record with 184,093 units sold.

Additionally, BYD sold 146,395 fully electric vehicles, up 22% year-over-year.

Expansion into New Segments

Despite being known for its affordable EVs, BYD is expanding into new popular segments like mid-size SUVs, luxury vehicles, and pickups.

The new Sea Lion 07 electric SUV and the long-awaited Shark PHEV pickup have already made a significant impact in the market.

Global Impact

BYD's low-cost EVs are already causing concern for overseas rivals, with plans to launch in Europe and a strong presence in overseas markets like Brazil.

Impressive Technological Advancements

BYD's fifth-gen Dual Mode (DM) hybrid tech boasts the highest thermal efficiency globally and a combined CLTC range of up to 2,100 kilometers.

BYD's remarkable sales performance and expansion into new segments demonstrate its growing influence in the global EV market.
