Catholic Prayer for Wisdom

Hello everyone, and welcome to America Needs Fatima’s 3-minute Meditation. In this short video segment, you and I will take about three minutes out of our day to meditate on a special piece of Catholic wisdom. In today’s meditation we ask Our Lord for wisdom and strength, that we may better know, love and serve Him in this valley of tears.

And that may just be our key phrase of the day, “valley of tears.” With life moving so swiftly about us, with new problems, milestones and joys it is no wonder that we lose sight of the fact that this life is temporary and something bigger awaits us. But in today's meditation, we ask for the wisdom to set our priorities on the eternal according to Our Lord’s will for us.

“Heavenly Father, you have promised that if anyone lacks wisdom, we should ask Thee, and Thou will give us that wisdom. I ask Thee for wisdom and guidance today, Lord. Help me to make wise decisions that are for my good and Thy glory. When I don’t know which way to go, I ask that I would know Thy presence near me, guiding me in the right direction. I do not want to go anywhere without Thee O Lord, because being in Thine presence is the best place for me. Protect me and direct my steps.

Thine word says that the joy of the Lord is my strength. Let me rejoice in my salvation and find true strength in Thee. Renew my strength every morning and restore my strength every evening. Let me be filled with Thy Holy Spirit, through whom Thou broke the power of sin, shame and death. Thou are the King of ages, immortal, invisible, the only God. To Thee be honor and glory forever and ever. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.”
