Chihuly Garden and Glass - Something is Suspicios

Call me crazy, but looking at the artwork at the Chihuly garden and glass museum, his inspiration seems suspect. There is just something about it that reminds me too much of something Lovecraftian. Was Chihuly dreaming of Elder Gods?
