Connor Whitbey, a senior at North High School, visited the 23ABC studios Wednesday thinking he was about to do an interview about the upcoming 2018 U.S. Army Arena Bowl being held in downtown Bakersfield. Whitbey didn't know that he was about to be surprised by his uncle that he hasn't seen in years. Mark Whitbey, Connor's uncle took part in the surprise. He is an Air Force veteran who was an E3 Firefighter and served during Desert Storm. He was medically discharged following a serious injury. Connor was in the middle of the interview when he was surprised. You can see the moment in the video above.
