Male Ostrich Tries To Flirt With Guy In A Honda

Sometimes when the urge takes you, you have to respond to it. This poor ostrich has found what he thinks might be his next mate on a road. Possibly it might be at wild life sanctuary or even an ostrich farm. We are not sure because like you we only have the information that we are provided and sometimes those burning questions just do not get answered. We suppose though it is more fun to kind of imagine what else is going on around the video. Like what happened before the video was turned on and what happened once it was turned off.

So, you may be wondering, what is this ostrich doing? If you have not seen it before this ostrich is a male and he is doing a mating dance. What he does is gets down low and flaps his wings out. He then leans his neck back and sways it back and forth to each of his flapping wings. Were a female available to him she would respond a little differently if she liked his dance. The female responds by leaning forward.

She flaps her wings backward and makes a kind of clapping noise with her beak. But why would this male ostrich do his mating dance to a guy in his Honda? We found a study that noted that ostriches that were raised around humans, especially those on farms, would like humans as much as other ostriches. Both female and male ostriches raised around humans respond with their mating dances when they see humans. Not all of the time, but it is a reaction that they will make. However, it does not turn into ostriches making more eggs if they are around their opposite sex.
