Surely there's a difference between TRUE PROPHETS and SOOTHSAYERS (or politicians)!

True prophets are wont to ask us to repent for breaking God's Law. That's probably why we always stoned them, because they told the truth whether we liked to hear it or not. Soothsayers, false prophets and politicians are those more likely to ask for revenge. There's a difference, surely, between the True God and the Oracle of Delphi! I find it hard to believe that the True God would ask us to go around killing everything that moves, for example. Just a thought.
Speaking of Literature, Poetry, Mythology, I tell here the story of the Fall of Troy: Paris and Helen, Hector and Achilles, King Priam, Soothsayer Calchas. The story comes from Homer's Iliad. The Iliad, however, begins after the Greeks have reached Troy, when Apollo sends the pestilence upon them. It does not mention the sacrifice of Iphigenia, and makes dubious allusion to the Judgement of Paris. Iphigenia's story comes from a play by the 5th century BC Aeschylus, and Agamemnon, and The Judgement of Paris from The Trojan Woman, a play by his contemporary Euripides.
