US President Joe Biden has outlined a new Israeliproposal to end the conflict in Gaza, saying "it's time for this war to end".

He has set out a three-stage roadmap - involving asix-week ceasefire that would become permanent andthen the rebuilding of Gaza with international assistance.

Biden has urged Hamas to "take the deal", while alsopressing all Israeli political leaders to do the same.

Israeli forces are currently in central Rafah, in Gaza'ssouth, but earlier this week the White House said theIDF had not crossed any red lines set by the US President.
