Sea How it moves! It is always interesting to see and observe closely how creatures move. Look at its spines - these tiny hairlike structures protects urchins from predators. As it moves using its tube feet, its spines would prick and scare away its pursuers. When you walk on tidal pools, you have to be careful of these creatures as some species have spines that are toxic.
Do you know that the word urchin means hedgehog. Then, it is safe to call this sea creature a hedgehog of the sea.
There are more than 900 species of urchins. In one of our videos, you will see two other kinds of urchins.
