Compass Magnet Motor Optic Feedback

We are trying a different tack with the compass magnet motor. We are trying to use optical feedback with LEDs and LDRs and a lamp.

We have LEDs on top of the magnets with two AA batteries that activate an LDR every 180 degrees they turn. That LDR tells the motor to stop and in fact go in reverse for an instant so the n20 motor stops right away. Two LDRs on the bottom disk of the compass magnet motor armature turn the n20 motor on when the light from the lamp activates them.

It's doing 138 RPM in this video but has great potential compared to the previous method of just trying to go a little faster at a time which was taking 5 minutes to get up to speed. This goes up to speed almost instantly.

Stay tuned:)
