Eelukadalkalum Paddadum (upscaled)
Tamil Eelam History: This historic song has very deep meaningful lyrics explaining the 1987 scenario after Indo-Sri Lanka agreement, The song also explains the congress party India's betrayal to Eelam Tamils, and the atrocities committed by Indian armed forces. It says Tamil Eelam history was written using the Tamil Tiger's blood. The song shows the pain, determination and bravery of Eelam Tamils too. There were several reasons India and Sri Lanka tried to erase the Tamil Eelam history and it still does even though Congress party no longer in power. The history of 1987 Indian invasion was shameful for India. Rather than stopping the Sri Lanka's genocide, India also committed crimes against humanity and killed thousands of Tamils, and later defeated and exit. India liberated Bangladesh but it took side with genocidal Sri Lanka as oppose to victims of genocide.
Over thirty years old songs like this and historical videos and artifacts continued to be erased by both India and Sri Lanka and their hope is history and their crimes can be buried without any trace. This is why Tamil Diaspora finds ways to preserve the history as the history belongs to future generations. The sequence of events explains the 1987 period beyond the State's propagandas.
In 1987, as part of Indo-Sri Lanka accord, Indian forces deployed in Tamil Eelam, Tamil Tigers surrendered their weapons and disarmed. However, India forces kept arming the paramilitary and Sri Lankan military didn't leave from Tamil's homeland instead they continued Sinhala colonization and genocide. Thiyagi Thileepan hunger strike from Sep 15 until Sep 26, 1987 asked for minimal implementation of the promise given to Tamils by the Congress party India. Congress party Indian Prime Minister Rajeev Ghandi arrogantly acted against Tamils and bent to appease genocidal Sri Lanka in order to stop USA voice of America project. A Tamil civilian women Annai Poopathi also went hunger strike and died as Congress party India purposefully ignored.
Indian Prime Minister Rajeev Ghandi was later responsible for thousands of Tamils death in Eelam. He always remembered by Tamils as murderer who lived during Indian army time and know the history well. On Oct 5, 1987, 12 Tamil Tigers including two commanders Kumarappa and Pulendran took into custody as prisoners and they were kept at Palaly military base by the Indian military and then tried to handed them over to genocidal Sri Lanka. When the genocidal military try to took them to Colombo, they consumed Cyanide and fought against Sri Lankan forces empty handed and died. After this, full scale war broke between Tamil Tigers and Indian forces. During that time, India's aim was only to appease Sri Lankan government and they didn't care about Tamil's plight. India committed so many massacres and killed thousands of Tamils. India's continues support to genocidal Sri Lanka finally brought China into it's backyard. Even after Tamil Tigers ceased to exists in May 2009, Sri Lanka still continue it's genocide in different scale and methods, China own over 20% of Eelam.
