An altercation involving a knife-wielding man and Los Angeles police resulted in an officer's injury and the arrest of the suspect, officials said. According to the LAPD Newsroom, the incident occurred in the early hours of April 27 when police responded to an Assault with a Deadly Weapon call on West 105th Street.

Dominique Langlois, 34, was reportedly uncooperative with responding officers, becoming combative and retreating to his bedroom when they tried to engage him. After backup arrived, Langlois then complied and was handcuffed, but later spat at the officers, escalating the situation to a "Categorical Use of Force" by the LAPD's definition.

The suspect was taken to a local hospital, where he was cleared for booking and subsequently transported to the 77th Street Regional Jail. Langlois now faces charges for battery on a police officer, based on the reported events leading up to his arrest. The only reported injury from the clash was an officer's finger abrasion, and no other officers or community members were harmed.
