India heatwave sees temperatures rise above 50C | BBC News

Temperatures have crossed 50C (120F) in parts ofnorthern and central India as the country grapples with extreme heatwave conditions.

Indian summers, which extend from March toSeptember, are usually hot and humid.

But the weather department in India has said thecountry is likely to experience longer and more intense heatwaves this year.
