Fencing and Barricades Set Up at Encampment on Wayne State University Campus in Detroit

Barricades have been set up around the pro-Palestine encampment at Wayne State University in Detroit, with fencing, wooden boards and tables among the items currently surrounding tents set up along Gullen Mall

The encampment was initially launched on Thursday, May 23rd, with protesters calling for divestment at Wayne State

Citing “an ongoing public safety issue”, the university transitioned to remote operations early Tuesday morning, with all on-campus events canceled until further notice. Subsequent announcements have continued the move to remote operations through at least Thursday, May 30th
