George R.R. Martin BLASTS Screenwriters | They FAIL at Adaptations

Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin said recently that modern writers deviating from the source material they’re adapting make it worse 999 times out of 1000.

Fans of various properties seem to agree with what the A Song of Ice and Fire author has to say. Too often when a new show or movie is being adapted from an IP with a devoted fanbase such as The Rings of Power or The Witcher, the fans will not hesitate to voice their disapproval. Studios have been trying to dismiss such criticism as a loud minority, but as time goes on we can see the viewership numbers for such properties suggest more people agree than don’t with the actual fans.
