Title: The Prince of The Covenant - The Beast Rising

In the prophecy of Daniel's 70 Weeks, it says that after the Messiah was to be cut off (i.e. crucified), then the people of the Prince would come and destroy Jerusalem, and we know that happened in 70 AD with the Roman invasion of Israel. Yet, further on in Daniel 9:27, speaking of the final 7 Year Tribulation period, it says and 'he' (referring to the Prince) will confirm a covenant with Israel and many nations until the Abomination of Desolation. We know that this final week has not yet begun, which makes one wonder how could the Prince who destroyed Jerusalem come and make a covenant with them nearly 2000 years later? I suggest that this ‘Prince’ is a Principality in the spiritual realm (i.e. Prince of Persia), a Fallen Angel who is in charge of a nation or region, and I believe this spiritual being will empower or even possess the AntiChrist who will soon make the covenant with Israel when he is the One World Leader (Revelation 13).

Daniel 9:26-27 KJV — And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Now, is this 'Prince' of Daniel 9:26-27 speaking of Lucifer or is it another fallen angel? Well I do not know for sure, but scripture suggests that the Angel of the Bottomless Pit is the one who invades Jerusalem and kills the Two Witnesses (Revelation 11) probably at the time when the AntiChrist invades Jerusalem to commit the Abomination of Desolation and kill the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

Revelation 11:7-8 KJV — And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

Furthermore, Revelation 9:11 talks about the King of the Bottomless Pit Apollyon, which means the Destroyer, and in 2 Thessalonians 2, the AntiChrist is called the Son of Destruction (Apoleia Often Translated as Perdition).

2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 HNV — Let no one deceive you in any way. For it will not be, unless the departure comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of destruction (G684 - apōleia), he who opposes and exalts himself against all that is called God or that is worshiped; so that he sits as God in the temple of God, setting himself up as God.

Likewise Daniel speaks of a King of fierce countenance who would come and by peace he would ‘destroy’ many, showing once again the destructive nature of the AntiChrist.

Daniel 8:23-25 KJV — And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up. And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people. And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.

We also see in Revelation 17, that the Angel of the Bottomless Pit is connected to the final Beast Empire of the AntiChrist with 10 Horns. Which makes me believe it will be Apollyon who will possess and empower the AntiChrist during Daniel's 70th Week.

Revelation 17:8 KJV — The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition (destruction): and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
