This happened on December 16, 2023. I was on a metro bus heading to the animal shelter to volunteer when another passenger started cussing at everyone and ranting about race after he, for what it seemed, missed his stop before the bus entered the freeway. This was the first time I had ever witnessed behavior like this on public transit, and for an extremely ridiculous reason. Since that day, I have seen quite a few more race rants on busses. Ranting about one's miseries for a bunch of strangers to hear is NEVER an effective method to change anyone's views on social issues at all as it just evokes anxiety and even more hate. There are far more productive and less anxiety-inducing ways to do so and have better results.
